Miami Beach, Florida
This magnificent carving once adorned the façade of 530 Lincoln
Road. Removed sometime during the Modern Architecture movement, the Bearded
Man was forgotten by the local community. Invaluable to the history of
Miami Beach, it was brought back in the summer of 2015 during the building’s
renovation. Known for their professionalism and craftsmanship, Premier
Stoneworks was responsible for replicating this masterpiece and carving
the new art work. This historical restoration required precision, attention
to details, creativity and collaborative work between the architect, Premier
Stoneworks and Miami Beach Historical Preservation board.

Construction of an 83,841-SF, 3-story new City Hall with Council Chambers
occupancy for over 250 people, Emergency Operations Center, Mayor and
City Manager’s offices, Council Members’ offices, Development
Services Department, Finance Department, Human Resources Department, Customer
Service Department with Work Order and Billing, General Services Department,
City Clerk’s Office, and IT System support rooms and associated
electrical and infrastructure rooms.
The Excellence in Construction awards program is the industry’s leading
competition that honors both general and specialty contractors for innovative
and high-quality merit shop construction projects. The award honors all
construction team members, including the contractor, owner, architect
The winning projects, selected from entries submitted from across the nation,
were judged on complexity, attractiveness, unique challenges, completion
time, workmanship, innovation, safety and cost. A panel of industry experts
served as the competition’s judges. This year's panel included
representatives from the Design-Build Institute of America, Engineering
News-Record, the Construction Users Roundtable and the National Association
of Women in Construction and higher education.
In order to be eligible for an ABC National Excellence in Construction
Award, members must have won an EIC award at the chapter level.
There is still time to register your intent to compete form for the 2017
Florida East Coast Chapter EIC. Deadline for Intent to Compete is March
31, 2017. Final submission will be due on May 31, 2017.
