Who Should Attend
Anyone interested in the effect that government regulation has on the commercial construction industry and in taking steps towards improving the business climate in Florida to attract new and vibrant business opportunities to the state. Here are several great reasons to attend and specific bills we’ll be working on:
Job Creation
• Expand the reach of existing public private partnership opportunities to include local government, education, and special districts.
• Assist our Ports throughout the state to ensure that they remain a viable part of our state’s economy.
• Identify PECO funding opportunities. Florida’s educational institutions must remain competitive on a national scale.
Legislative Obstacles
• Keep competition on public construction projects open and honest. Project Labor Agreements limit competition and drive up the cost of construction to taxpayers.
• Work to eliminate geographic price preferences at the local level. Projects funded by state dollars should be open to companies from across the state of Florida. Limiting competition decreases the available talent pool and drives up costs significantly.
• Improve our workplace security by adopting more uniform
security policies.
